“…nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified.”

Galatians 2:16

Salvation by faith in Christ is wonderfully illustrated in this verse when graphically displayed in this manner: 1. The means of our justification before God is not our keeping the law. 2. Christ is the means of our salvation. 3. Christ becomes the means of our salvation by faith in Him.

1. a man is not justified by the works of the Law

2. but through faith in Christ Jesus

3. even we have believed in Christ Jesus

2.’ so that we may be justified by faith in Christ

1.’ not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified

Or as it is wonderfully stated in the gospel of John,

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

John 3:16
