SUNDAY SCHOOL AT COMMUNITY BAPTIST CHURCH
Sunday School for all ages, children through adults, is at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. The format strongly
encourages training by the parents at home during the week so the children are prepared for their classes on Sunday
morning.
CHILDREN
The preschool/kindergarten class uses materials from Great Commission Publications. The
current theme is: "Jesus is God's Son." There is also weekly catechism training.
Grades 1-5 are currently focusing on the
central doctrines of our faith as
expressed in the Apostles' Creed,
Baptist Confession and Heidelberg
Catechism, in anticipation and
preparation for baptism.
YOUTH
Junior High (Gr. 6-8)
This class is studying the Westminster Shorter Catechism. The goal of this class is for the students
to know basic biblical truths and doctrines and to make biblical truth their own and to apply it in their lives.
Senior High (Gr. 9-12)
The Senior High class is joining with the adult Sunday school class in
going through a study of the book
"Faith in the Face of Apostasy" by
Raymond B. Dillard, focusing on
the lives of Elijah and Elisha.
ADULT STUDY
The adult Sunday school class is
going through a study of the book
"Faith in the Face of Apostasy" by
Raymond B. Dillard, focusing on
the lives of Elijah and Elisha. The
goal of the class is to see how their
stories are used to point us to
Christ and in general how to read
the Old Testament in a Christ-centered
way.
