Al & Betty Baanna work with Emmanuel Ministries
International, a Christian ministry to locations around the globe. EMI's programs are
designed to provide theological training to church leaders and provide field ministry assistance to
national Christians in establishing, equipping and encouraging churches primarily in Eastern
Europe. EMI has also recently partnered with like-ministries in the Czech Republic, South America
and the Dutch Antilles.
Al and Betty were members of Community Baptist Church before joining Emmanuel Ministries.
Sergej Garkusha is an EMI CP-21 pastor of a small
church in an impoverished part of Liepaja, Latvia, a city of approximately 110,000 people along the
western part of Latvia. He is married with 5 sons and lives in a 2 bedroom house. In addition to
pastoring a church of approximately 40 people, he is actively leading youth activities and is
praying monthly with another pastor in town in hopes of starting a new church plant in the poorest

Alexander Kazmerchuk is an EMI CP-21 Baptist
pastor of a church in Dzirnieki, Latvia, a small village approximately 40 miles southwest of Riga
(the capital of Latvia). He is married with 2 sons and 3 daughters, one of which (Lilly) was just
married in August to a man who is attending the current CP-21 Church Planter training program. His
family was greatly persecuted for their faith during his childhood as they lived through communist
control. The church he currently pastors has approximately 50 members. Much more about Alexander

The Cornerstone Coffeehouse is an interdenominational outreach
ministry in the Fargo-Moorhead community, providing fellowship, Bible studies, and Christian
music & drama (on Friday and Saturday evenings). Community Baptist supports The Cornerstone at
the Bazaarfest at West Acres in October and also has a Giving Tree Project at Christmas-time to
provide gifts for the needy people fellowshipping there. Please pray for the staff, the ministry,
and that those who come would experience growth in their spiritual lives.
Larry & Bonnie Waswick are on staff with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Dallas, Texas. They have an
assignment in the computer department, developing computer programs for translators, in order to
reach the remaining 3000 language groups who still need God's Word in their heart language. Please
pray for Larry, Bonnie, and their three sons, Timothy, Benjamin, and Jonathan.
Larry and Bonnie were members at Community Baptist Church when they lived in Fargo.
Bruce & Darlene Young work with Church Dynamics International. Through this ministry,
they serve and counsel missionaries, pastors and their wives. Currently they are also working with
Emmanuel Ministries and their ministry in Eastern Europe and other areas around the world.
Bruce Young was a pastor at Community Baptist Church when they lived in Fargo.
FirstChoice Clinic is a nonprofit faith-based clinic
providing education and health services to empower individuals to make informed, life-affirming
choices.
Established in 1984, FirstChoice Clinic (FCC) is a faith-based, nonprofit, 501(c)3
medically-based pregnancy help center. Offering comprehensive pregnancy help services,
FirstChoice serves clients from all of North Dakota and Northwestern Minnesota. The staff of
the clinic is made up of licensed registered nurses, volunteer physicians and sonographers.
In 2006, FCC recorded over 1,850 client visits - offering services that include pregnancy testing
and counseling, ultrasound, sexual integrity classes parenting education, adoption promotion,
prenatal and fertility care education. Their services and programs are offered free of charge
and are funded by private donations, community grants, North Dakota Department of Human Services
(through funding for alternatives to abortion services) and several annual fundraising events.
