Community Baptist Church currently has the following Bible Studies on a regular (weekly) basis:

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL
The Adult Sunday school class is studying Covenant Theology, currently using the book, "God of Promise: Introducing Covenant Theology", by Michael Horton.

What is Covenant Theology? It is the way to properly interpret the Bible, particular passages, individual doctrines and promises. Why is this important? Because God always relates to man on the basis of a covenant and has revealed His plan of salvation in covenants. Therefore, a right understanding of covenants is vital to reading God's word correctly and enjoying the riches of our life in Christ. Plan to part of this class!!

This class is repeated at 5:00 p.m. for those that could not attend at 9:00 a.m.

BAPTIST CONFESSION OF 1689
A study of the Baptist Confession of meets on Wednesday at 6:00 P.M. The Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689 explains the Baptistic understanding of the great doctrines of the faith recovered in the 16th century Reformation. It is the classic confession of faith among Calvinistic and Reformed Baptists. C.H. Spurgeon said of this great confession, "Here the youngest members of our church will have a body of truth in small compass, and by means of scriptural proofs will be able to give a reason for the hope that is in them." Individuals junior-high age and up are encouraged to be part of this study.

CHRISTIAN CLASSICS READING GROUP
Friday Mornings at 6:00 a.m.
A Christian Classics Reading Group, led by Pastor Doug, is for those who would like to read classic Christian literature covering the past 2000 years of Church history. The purpose of this class is to grow in a deeper appreciation of Christ through careful consideration of His providential oversight of His church, through some of the teachers and leaders He has raised up through the generations.

This will be accomplished through reading primary sources of gifted teachers like Augustine, Luther, Calvin, and Edwards. As Christ builds His church, He raises up faithful teachers through whom he edifies His people. The gifting and insight that Christ has given some of these men transcends their own time and culture. As the Lord wills, our reading ought to equip us with a better appreciation of the development of the Christian mind and doctrine.

HEADS OF HOUSEHOLDS TRAINING
There is monthly training for Heads of Households held 6:30 pm on Wednesday. (Check the calendar for the next scheduled date.) Topics include Worship, Discipleship, Service, and Evangelism, with a focus on knowing, skills, and relationships.

The topic for September is "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness." The topic for October is "The Canonicity of Scripture."

BIBLE READING CALENDAR, by Robert Murray M'Cheyne
It is a concise course whereby one can read through the whole Bible once a year - with the Psalms & the New Testament twice. The tables have two separate columns; one for family readings and one for private [in secret] readings. M'Cheyne's Calendar was highly recommended by famous preachers such as Charles Haddon Spurgeon. In John Stott's "Between Two Worlds" he expresses his gratitude for having been given M'Cheyne's 'bible reading calendar' (p183).
